With a housing deficit of 25.4%, and most of it concentrated in urban areas, increasing Argentina’s housing supply is essential. Argentina’s Integrated Urban Complexes Program (Programa Conjuntos Urbanos Integrados) aims to reduce the housing deficit and multiply the generation of housing supply by promoting public-private partnerships (PPPs) and by targeting lower- and middle-income wage earners. Goals of the program also include increasing access to mortgage products across different incomes and subsidy levels, along with promoting social integration and generating employment opportunities.
Essential to the successful implementation of this program are the focused and differentiated subsidy line, subsidized interest rates through the participation of the private sector, effective communication and dissemination of the program strategy, post-subsidy monitoring, and access to technological channels.
